Our team is raising funds for congenital heart defect research - join us!
Raising funds for Congenital Heart Defect research is critically important to Heart Warriors and personally very meaningful to me.
My heart surgery was when I was just 4 months old. That was almost 9 years ago. After some significant heart reconstruction, I received my first pacemaker at that time as well. My first pacemaker replacement was three years ago. I will have many more throughout my life. Research to treat and better improve patients’ lives is important to me. Each advancement makes me safer and allows me to live a more normal life. Some examples of important research are wireless pacemakers and rechargeable batteries in pacemakers. Another surgical advance being studied is technology for live visualization of the electrical conduction cells of the heart during surgery, which would prevent surgical complications like mine that result in needing a pacemaker.
Please help us to fund CHD research by making a donation to my personal fundraising page. Together we can make a life-saving difference!
Why give? Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defect in the nation, impacting ONE in every 110 babies each year. The Children’s Heart Foundation exists to make sure these babies - and everyone impacted by CHDs - live long and healthy lives.
