Join Lottie in supporting congenital heart defect research!
This is the first year that we will be walking with the Children's Heart Foundation on Saturday, August 13th at the SF Zoo with our #HeartWarrior, Lottie, leading the way. Lottie was born on October 14, 2021 and was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) three days later. She underwent a complete repair of her heart at 2 months old. After seven days in the PICU at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, Lottie went home to celebrate her first Christmas and her Dada's birthday a few days later. It was the best gift we could ever hope for. Lottie's "booboo" on her chest will tell a story - a story of faith, hope, resilience, and undeniable strength.
Sharing Lottie's story sometimes still feels surreal to us but we want to help bring awareness for congenital heart defects (CHD), as America's most common defect. 25% of babies born with a CHD will need surgery in their first year of life to survive, and every 15 mins in the US, a child is born with a CHD. We are so blessed to have had access to the best cardiologist and care team but research in this area is still underfunded. With the power of research and advancements in medicine, more children with a CHD can live a longer and healthier life.
By donating to help us reach our fundraising goal, YOU are helping to fund the most promising research into CHDs. Together we can make a life-saving difference! Please consider joining our team or donating to our team to help us raise money for a cause that is so dear to our hearts.
Thank you in advance for your support. #LottieStrong
