Join me in supporting congenital heart defect research!
I am earnestly asking all my family and friends to contribute to a foundation near and dear to my heart, The Childrens Heart Foundation, in honor of my great grandson, Oliver Holden, born August 10, 2021, with a life-threatening heart defect. I will be participating in a walk on May 15th to aid CHF’s research to advance the treatments of congenital heart defects like Oliver’s.
Oliver was born with a life-threatening congenital heart defect, HLHS, hypoplastic left heart syndrome-in layman’s terms-half a functioning heart. His first open heart surgery was performed at 3 days old and he was on life support for some time. Two subsequent surgeries were scheduled to be performed, but my Oliver experienced severe complications and further surgery was deemed not possible. Oliver is still a patient at Boston’s Children’s Hospital and as of December 10th, was placed at the top of the list for a heart transplant. We are still waiting. Oliver is truly my hero and I have deemed him (my heart warrior.) Oliver has truly shown his entire family what a ‘true hero’ is and has conquered every obstacle set before him. He is a fighter and never gives up and Oliver surprises us everyday with his smiles. Please contribute via Facebook or send a check directly to me made out to The Childrens Heart Foundation.
I thank you all for your love and support during this frightening time. Truly, my love to all of you.
Bev
