Join us in supporting congenital heart defect research!
We walk and fight for our heart warrior, Isaac! Isaac was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome prenatally after there were some abnormal findings in his twenty week ultrasound. To date, Isaac has had two open heart surgeries and two catheterization procedures, and spent 14 weeks of his first year in the hospital. He has been home and thriving since his surgery last summer! Isaac will have at least one more heart surgery and a lifetime of care to go. We continue to be amazed by the care and compassion that all of Isaac’s medical team have shown our family.
Prior to his second surgery, we were given the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial that evaluates the effectiveness of stem cells inserted into the heart. Funding for this study was piloted by the Children’s Heart Foundation! We are so grateful that Isaac could participate in this research and hope that it helps many heart warriors and their families in the future.
Raising funds for congenital heart defect (CHD) research is not only critically important to all babies born with, and children and adults living with CHDs, it is also personally meaningful to our family.
By donating to help us reach our fundraising goal, you’re helping to fund the most promising research into CHDs - America’s most common birth defect. All are welcome to join us for the Chicago Congenital Heart Walk on June 11 in Lincoln Park! We are so thankful for your love, support and prayers.
Together we can make a life-saving difference! Thank you in advance for your support.
