Welcome to Courageous Carter's fundraising page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Congenital Heart Walk. Raising funds for CHD research is critically important to all Heart Warriors and Heart Angels, and personally very meaningful to me.
Our team is raising critical funds for congenital heart defects! Congenital heart defects are the most commonly occurring birth defect, affecting approximately 1 in 110 babies born, or a child born every 15 minutes. Congenital heart defects are the leading cause of birth-defect related mortality.
Funded research is making a very big difference in the lives of CHD patients, helping to reduce incidences and increase survival, longevity and quality of life. Research has made a very big impact, and with survival and longevity increasing, even more research is needed to help address lifelong challenges that CHD patients will face. Every dollar in support of The Children’s Heart Foundation helps to further their mission: to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects.
Our lives changed last August 2020 when we found out our little babe would be a heart warrior. From the moment we met him in December of 2020, he has been a fighter. He has had multiple open heart surgeries, a thoracotomy, and way too many pokes and prods. He has been hospitalized for 4.5 months out of his 1st year of life. He is home now and getting stronger to prepare for his his next open heart surgery next summer. He is now 19 months old and still the most courageous little boy we are blessed to call ours. Please help us in raising funds for research to help, not only Carter, but many other little heart warriors and their families.
We will be attending the walk. We appreciate any and all donations that can support our team. If you plan on joining in on the walk on September 24,2022 at Rochester Municipal park, we would love to know and meet up.
I made team t-shirts if you would like to order one. You can choose the style and color of shirt from this website:
There is also a playground close to where the walk takes place that we will be hanging out at for a bit after the walk for a built in play date if you would like to plan on staying for a bit and playing.
Please email or text me to look out for you if you will be at the walk. Christine.Nazareth@gmail.com. 248.217.0072
