Welcome to My Personal Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Congenital Heart Walk. Raising funds for CHD research is critically important to all Heart Warriors and Heart Angels, and personally very meaningful to me.
We do this walk every year because of our heart warrior, Connor. When Connor was two days old, he stopped breathing in my arms. Days later, despite numerous tests, he was discharged with an undiagnosed congenital heart defect. His congenital heart defect was diagnosed a week later by a keen-eyed radiologist reviewing his films while we were at a genetics appointment. He was diagnosed with right aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian artery. When he was three months old, he had surgery to repair vascular tissue that was restricting his trachea and esophagus. Had we not learned of his defect, Connor most likely would have had choking episodes when eating, a high suspectibilty to respiratory illnesses, and poor growth. At the time of his surgery, he only had stridor, which is a wheezy cry.
Connor's heart defect is usually an afterthought for me. Medical events such as when he got the enterovirus in 2014 bring it to the forefront. Covid is bringing it to the forefront. I am so grateful for the Children's Heart Foundation for all it has done to keep parents of heart warriors informed during this time.
Help us to fund CHD research by making a donation to my personal fundraiser page.
