2021 Detroit Congenital Heart Walk

Little Dude's Crew

Little Dude's Crew is raising critical funds for congenital heart defect research! Harrison (Little Dude) was born with tricuspid atresia. At 1 1/2 years old, he has already undergone two heart surgeries, and will have another within the next year. Those surgeries have allowed him to grow and thrive. These surgeries were developed within the last fifty years. Prior to that, the life expectancy for children like Harrison was terribly short. Research funded by The Children's Heart Foundation is helping to continue progress to improve life expectancy and quality of life for Harrison and other's like him.

Congenital heart defects are the most commonly occurring birth defect, affecting approximately 1 in 110 babies. Even with the advancements already made, congenital heart defects are still the leading cause of birth-defect related mortality.

Research has made a very big impact, and with survival and longevity increasing, even more research is needed to help address lifelong challenges that CHD patients will face. Every dollar in support of The Children’s Heart Foundation helps to further their mission: to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects.
