2021 San Francisco Congenital Heart Walk

#Team Logan Hurt

We are walking August 14th in San Francisco  in honor of our warrior  Logan Hurt who is battling this Disease that has no cure. Logan has been batting CHD since birth his first heart surgery was at two weeks old, and has been through multiple surgeries since than. This little man was born worn a hole between the upper and lower chambers of his heart. He has had his mitral valve replaced. Spent lots of days to months in the hospital. UCSF Benioff Children's hospital know Logan very well. Logan struggles with wanting to be a normal kid, but if you see him playing you would never know he was a heart guy. He's grouchy, funny, thinks he's boss man, and just a all around character. This year he played baseball and fell in love with the sport, they say no contact sports but this year we let him just be a kid. Its hard to explain to him why he's a heart warrior, although we remind him all the time we are by his side. #Team Logan Hurt. Please come out and walk with us or donate in his name. Thank you family and friends.  Our team is raising critical funds for congenital heart defects! Congenital heart defects are the most commonly occurring birth defect, affecting approximately 1 in 110 babies born, or a child born every 15 minutes. Congenital heart defects are the leading cause of birth-defect related mortality.

Funded research is making a very big difference in the lives of CHD patients, helping to reduce incidences and increase survival, longevity and quality of life. Research has made a very big impact, and with survival and longevity increasing, even more research is needed to help address lifelong challenges that CHD patients will face. Every dollar in support of The Children’s Heart Foundation helps to further their mission: to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects.

Please support our team, join us for the Congenital Heart Walk, or both!
