Drew's Crew

Welcome to Drew's Crew's page! We are so excited to be walking in the San Francisco Congenital Heart Walk to raise funds for congenital heart defect (CHD) research.

Many people know how important supporting CHD research has been to the Hauber family. Twenty-one years ago, Drew was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a heart defect that required him to have three open-heart surgeries before the age of three -- a solution that saved his life but one that is not certain to last a full lifetime. Sixty years ago, when Drew and Lauren's aunt was born with the same defect, hospice was the only option and Anna Marie lived only a few days. We've seen first hand how much research has improved the options for heart babies, but there is still more to do!

Our team is raising critical funds for congenital heart defect research. CHDs are the most commonly occurring birth defect, affecting approximately 1 in 110 babies born, or a child born every 15 minutes. Congenital heart defects are the leading cause of birth-defect related mortality.

Funded research is making a very big difference in the lives of CHD patients, helping to reduce incidences and increase survival, longevity and quality of life. Research has made a very big impact, and with survival and longevity increasing, even more research is needed to help address lifelong challenges that CHD patients will face. Every dollar in support of The Children’s Heart Foundation helps to further their mission: to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects.

Please support our team, join us for the Congenital Heart Walk in San Francisco (or your local city), or both!
