New England Congenital Heart Walk

Lenny Strong

Hello Everyone,

We are walking again in memory of our heart Angel Lenny. This is very important to us to raise awareness for other heart warriors just like Lenny.

Lenny was born on March 7. 2017. He was born with Hyperplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). This is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. As the baby develops during pregnancy, the left side of the heart does not form correctly and is severely underdeveloped. This condition accounts for 2% to 3% of all congenital heart disease. It effects 2 to 3 cases per 10,000 live births in the United States.

Lenny underwent multiple heart surgeries within his time here with us. He fought hard and was surrounded by love every step of the way. If love was enough he would of stayed with us forever. However, things don't always work the way we want it too. And our little boy was to perfect for this world. God called him home on April 6, 2017, at 30 days young.

We cherish every moment we spent with Lenny. Every day, every hour, every minute we spent holding his hand, kissing his toes, singing to him. He was and still is everything to us. It is imperative to us to keep his memory alive in any way possible. This walk means ALOT to us. It is something we do to honor, to help raise awareness, to remember Lenny. It's a day that is just for Lenny.

Please help donate to our team or join us to walk in Lenny's name. Everything counts and it is all appreciated!

~ Lenny's Parents ~

In tears we saw you sinking,
And watched you pass away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
We wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
How could we wish you back with us,
To suffer that again. It broke our hearts to
lose you, But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
