Los Angeles Congenital Heart Walk

An Eazy heart

Our team is raising critical funds for congenital heart defects! Congenital heart defects are the most commonly occurring birth defect, affecting approximately 1 in 110 babies born, or a child born every 15 minutes. Congenital heart defects are the leading cause of birth-defect related mortality.

At our second trimester ultrasound screening, a heart defect was detected on our beautiful baby boy, Ezekiel. Because of research, this was deteced early and we were able to try to mentally preapare ourselves as much a we could for what would happen on the journey that lie ahead. On June 17th, 2019 our heart warrior came into this world. Eazy was born with critical aortic stenosis with pulmonary hypertension and coarctation of the aorta. As soon as he was born he was rushed to Chidrens Hospital of Los Angeles, where he underwent the first of many procedures. An open heart surgery called the Ross, 2 pacemaker surgeries, many cath lab procedures, Eazy was the strongest fighter i know. He was listed for a heart transplant in September 2019. We came close to getting a heart on November 1st 2019 but it turned out the heart was not healthy enough. A couple days later, Eazy went into surgery for a berlin heart (VAD). His health and organs began to decline shortly after. On December 29th, 2019, God called our warrior home. He was truly an inspiration to us all and touched so many people with his story. We miss him SO MUCH! We want to keep Eazy's story alive, spread awareness about CHD's and help as much as we can to find out more about them. CHD's are America's most common birth defect, affecting nearly 40,000 babies each yearin the U.S. alone. This equates to 1 child every 15 minutes. Please join us as we walk to change lives.

Please help us to fund CHD research by making a donation to my personal fundraising page. Together we can make a life-saving difference!
