Walking for Baby Kathan #2
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Congenital Heart Walk. Raising funds for CHD research is critically important to all Heart Warriors and Heart Angels, and personally very meaningful to me.
We found out at our 20 week anatomy ultrasound that Baby Kathan has a heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. It is caused by a hole in the lower part of the heart, and that causes the vessels to the lungs to under develop. We don’t know for sure what this will mean for our baby, but it will mean at least one open heart surgery and likely a valve replacement as an early adult. Luckily we have access to great healthcare, and finding out during pregnancy helps set this little one up for the best start possible.
We wish we could be with our friends and family more for support and love, and to celebrate this baby together. Because the pandemic keeps us apart, please consider donating or “walking” with us on Oct 25. We plan to walk around Lake Como and the park, and would love to have you join us or to send us selfies of your walk. And please feel free to reach out in other ways as this little one’s journey becomes more clear. It takes a village ❤
