St. Louis Congenital Heart Walk 2020 Team Audrey Strong
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Congenital Heart Walk. Raising funds for CHD research is critically important to all Heart Warriors and Heart Angels, and personally very meaningful to me.
My daughter Audrey was diagnosed with borderline Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) in utero when I was 20 weeks pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy, her heart continued to grow but the left side did not leaving it underdeveloped. Once Audrey was born, and with many calculations and discussions amongst the doctors and surgeons, a decision was made to keep both ventricles. (It was a hard decision for them to make as having a strong single ventricle heart could be better than having a week left ventricle.) Audrey's first open heart surgery was at 5 days old for a coarctation repair and at 6 weeks old she had a cath lab procedure to balloon dilate her aortic valve and arch. She has since been diagnosed with Shones Complex / Syndrome and will be having another open heart surgery soon for subaortic membrane resection. Audrey just turned 2 years old and although having a child with multiple congenital heart defects has not been easy, we would not be where we are at today without the donations, research and support.
Please help us to fund CHD research by making a donation to my personal fundraising page. Together we can make a life-saving difference!❤
