Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Congenital Heart Walk. Raising funds for CHD research is critically important to all Heart Warriors and Heart Angels, and personally very meaningful to me.
Jamie and I found out that Henry was going to be born with a congenital heart defect when I was 18 weeks pregnant. We were scared and didn't know what to expect. After a series of tests and doctors visits to understand a bit more about congenital heart defects, we knew that Henry was going to be a fighter. And, with the support of family, friends, coworkers, doctors and people you meet along the way, we made it through pregnancy and the 2 open-heart surgeries that Henry had during the first year of his life. Henry now has a full repair and the last we heard he has a "beautiful" heart!
We got the name "Henry Strong" for our team because Henry's Papa gave his dump truck a new look after Henry's second surgery. A new sign hung proudly on the side of the truck - Henry Strong. Joie even made a t-shirt!
To end, Jamie, Henry and I have been very lucky and fortunate to reach a day when we heard Henry's heart was beautiful. The entire team at Boston Children's Hospital made that possible. With that said, not everyone is as fortunate as us, so please join us to help fund CHD research by making a donation to my personal fundraising page. Together we can help give more beautiful hearts to this world!
