Welcome to My Personal Story about Vladimir's HLHS
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Congenital Heart Walk. Raising funds for CHD research is critically important to all Heart Warriors and Heart Angels, and personally very meaningful to me.
Please help us to fund CHD research by making a donation to my personal fundraising page. Together we can make a life-saving difference!
As many of you know, Vladimir was born with HLHS. (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome) He has underwent two of the three major open hear surgeries to help improve his quality of life. We raise money to fund CHD research in hope that we cannot only improve the quality of life but try and find ways to prevent CHD's from the start.
Here is our story:
On February 19, 2019 Adam and I went to our Anatomy ultrasound at 20 weeks and 4 days. We were so excited to finally be able to see our perfect little baby! But after the ultrasound was over, we were given the news that our baby boy’s heart isn’t formed properly. We were then scheduled for another ultrasound and a Fetal Echo-cardiogram, which is a special ultrasound to get detailed pictures and tones of the baby's heart and measure each part of it. On February 22nd, we had the appointment and we were given a diagnosis. It was absolutely soul crushing. We were told that our baby boy has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).
Since then we have had a number of fetal Echo’s completed by the Pediatric Cardiologist Team with NorthShore and Advocate Group. We have toured the perspective hospitals. And we are confident in our choice with Doctor Luca V and his surgical team at Advocate Hope Hospital. We had fetal echo's completed on a monthly basis up untill delivery.
On June 26th, 2019 at 9:36am - Adam and I welcomed our baby boy Vladimir. He is the joy of our world. He has been through two open hear surgeries and one cardiac cath. His first surgery, the Norwood, happened when Vladimir was just 5 days old. His cardiac cath happend when he was 3.5moths odl and he went in for his second open heart surgery, the Glenn, at 4months 5days old. We are very lucky to have our son here with us enjoying life. Vladimir continues to thrive and keep us on our toes. For now we are just enjoying our time with Vlad and spreading more awarness of his condition and other CHD's. Vladimir enjoys laughing and giggling every chance he can. He enjoys cuddling and baby talking to his parents. He enjoys his time spent with other grandma's, grandpa's, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He enjoys being in his toy car bouncer, and enjoys jamming out to some EDM, Country or Rap music. He also loves car rides!
We hope you find it in your heart to donate to such a great organization and help Vladimir and other families, children and adults with any form of CHD get more research funded.
Thank you for your donation in advance.
