Our son Ethan was born on March 14, 2011, Ethan was diagnosed with an undetected congenital heart defect (CHD). Two days after birth Ethan was diagnosed with a CHD called Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGS). To recognize Ethan’s successful open heart surgery at 4 days old and his continued good heart health, we are promoting Team Ethan’s Energizers to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Congenital Heart Walk (CHW) in Hershey, PA. We would like to ask for your support by either joining our team for the walk on Saturday, May 23, 2020 and/or sending in your tax-deductible donation today. You may also donate online! The walk will take place at the Milton Hershey School’s Football stadium.
Here are some facts about heart disease: Nearly two million children and adults are living with congenital heart defects (CHD) in the United States. Each year approximately 40,000 babies are born with a CHD, making it the country’s #1 birth defect. Ethan is one of these babies! At least 10% of all congenital heart defects are first found in adulthood. Thanks to increases in survival rates, the number of adults living with a CHD grows by 5% every year. Thanks to early detection and improvements in medical technology children and adults with CHDs are living longer, fuller lives now than ever before. Your support will continue our progress.
Funded research is making a very big difference in the lives of CHD patients, helping to reduce incidences and increase survival, longevity and quality of life. Research has made a very big impact, and with survival and longevity increasing, even more research is needed to help address lifelong challenges that CHD patients will face. Every dollar in support of The Children’s Heart Foundation helps to further their mission: to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects.
The Congenital Heart Walk on May 23, 2020 is an exciting joint effort that will benefit the nationally recognized organization: The Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF)! This effort will raise funds to continue its mission to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of CHDs.
Fighting congenital heart defects is personal for our family. Please consider supporting our efforts by joining the team or making a donation today at Ethan's Energizers Page. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
